ABOUT BOOK BUZZ
About Book Buzz - TPL's Virtual Book Club

Book Buzz is for everyone interested in reading. You can join us from your home computer or from any connected computer in Toronto, or anywhere, at any time.

On the first day of every month, the Book Buzz librarian launches a new book discussion in the online Discussion Forum. A couple of times a year we hope to have the book's author join us to answer questions posted by the readers.

There will be a month's notice of the next book for discussion. You can place a hold on it right from our main page. Readers may also have the opportunity to vote for the books that they would most like to talk about in the future from short-lists of titles posted in our "Vote for upcoming book" area.

To post your comments about the current book, you need to become a member by providing us with a username or nickname (you might choose your favorite literary character or any other fictitious name), a password and an email address. Please put SPOILER at the top of any post that reveals how a book ends, for those members who have yet to finish reading it.

AUTHOR CHATS

If you have Java, it's easy to take part in our live online author chats. Here's how:

Go to the Discussion Forums, and choose the chat folder. A box will pop up asking you to "enter your chat name". Choose a name for the chat, and hit OK. To join in, type a question or comment, and hit ENTER. Your post will then appear in the chat area.

If you are a registered member, simply log in, and choose the chat room. Your name will appear automatically. Then follow the directions above.
